DEI practitioners from across London came together this week for the KNIT Q2 2026 event, hosted by Wipro and Capco, for a high-energy morning of insight, collaboration and practical problem-solving.

The session opened with a deep dive into the evolving landscape of learning and development (L&D), led by David Morris of Braeward Partners. Attendees explored what is – and isn’t – being prioritised for investment in 2026, alongside the ongoing tension facing DEI learning. Encouragingly, the discussion highlighted clear opportunities for DEI practitioners to drive more impact in partnership with their L&D teams around a number of areas.

A standout feature of the event was an interactive case study focused on redesigning team workflows in an AI-enabled environment through a DEI lens. Participants worked in small groups to tackle a realistic leadership challenge, sparking lively discussion and shared learning across sectors and role types.

An expert panel brought these themes to life from different specialist perspectives including innovation, AI implementation, business transformation, DEI and L&D, with insights from Amita Basu from Wipro, Biral Joshi from ICGEleanor Ley from A&O Shearman and Sharon Benning from Capco. The panel underscored the scale of the opportunity – and responsibility – facing organisations as AI transforms how work is designed and delivered.

A clear message emerged: this is a “once-in-a-lifetime” moment to embed inclusion into the future of work. However, doing so will require deep cross-functional collaboration, better use of data, a commitment to continuous learning and iteration, and a sense of urgency. With many organisations already exploring AI-driven workflow redesign, ensuring inclusion is built in from the outset is critical.

KNIT – a cross-sector network focused on Knowledge, Networking, Innovation and Transformation – continues to provide a vital platform for DEI practitioners to share ideas and develop practical solutions. As this latest event demonstrated, the community is not only responding to change, but actively collaborating to shape what inclusive workplaces will look like in the years ahead.

Birgit Neu and Dr Vanessa Vallely OBE launched KNIT a year ago, the future-focused UK network for diversity, equity and inclusion professionals, centred on Knowledge, Networking, Innovation and Transformation.
