Hello, my name is Anna Andriievska. I’m from the Ukraine. I would like to self-nominate and share with you my not ordinary story.
My family, little daughter, and I relocated to the United Kingdom on the 24th of January 2022. When I first moved to Scotland 2 years ago, I had no idea how much my life and my family’s lives would change.
Two years ago, I started to do my first business meetings for Ukrainian businesswomen in Scotland. Today, I am the Founder and CEO of the first Ukrainian Businesswomen in Scotland Club, where I assist Ukrainian women in finding themselves and establishing businesses and lives here. I had launched a club to help other Ukrainian women navigate running businesses in Scotland, where around 25,000 Ukrainians are living since the 2022 year. It was a hard way, but I have already organised more than 50 events in Scotland and few women’s event in London.
I believe that I am doing my mission – to help Ukrainian women connect with other women. To be stronger and happier in their refugee experience.
The Ukrainian Businesswomen in Scotland Club, is a private club where people can purchase membership. We organize workshops and invite expert speakers to offer advice on various topics, from marketing products in Scotland to legal and financial differences. Members of the Ukrainian Business Women in Scotland Club, which hosted 35 events around the country last year, include individuals selling crafts and baked goods online, an Edinburgh-based Ukrainian-style sushi restaurant, and an interior designer.
Additionally, I run my own candle-making business, Anna Candles, featuring designs inspired by the colours of the Ukrainian flag. We have a presence at many markets and shops.
