Bloom
Description
Bloom is a professional network for women in communications. Find out more about our mission, our members, and how we work together to champion women in all stages of their careers.
To be truly equal, we need to break down the barriers in our way. The cultural ones, the industry ones and the ones we reinforce within ourselves. We are committed to empowering women to be whoever they want to be, to unlock their full potential, to fight for the equity they deserve. The real voices of women can bring the change we need. Because we believe in truth as a force for change. The naked truth. Real stories, shared honestly, that lift us up and give us the strength and skills to overcome the challenges we face. We call upon our friends and allies who share our desire for a truly equal industry to stand by us. Because together, we are Bloom.
What we do
We’re on a mission to ensure women have equal opportunity in the communications industry. By harnessing the power of their real voices, we strive to future-proof women’s careers, spearhead industry change and pay it forward.
Bloom launched in 2010 as a network to provide professional support for women within the communications industry. In our first year, we had 21 members and now a decade later we have over 500 and are continuing to grow. Our three founders Belinda Stacey, Katie Treggiden and Kirsty Barnes came up with the idea at a WACL event, and joined forces for the good of the industry. To this day, we have remained discipline-agnostic and welcome members from across the broader media, marketing and advertising industries.
To support our values of collaboration and inclusivity, and to promote fresh thinking and ideas, we select new leaders and committee members on an annual basis. Each team member plays an active role to help drive Bloom, support its partnerships and ensure all women within the industry achieve their potential.
