As a senior associate within the Bird & Bird sports team, I co-founded Bird & Bird’s Women’s Sports Group with my colleague Lereesa Easterbrook.
As part of this, we set up an internal women’s sport working group which has members across a number of our offices (male and female) that is dedicated to growing our women’s sport practice and sharing our knowledge and expertise in this area. We now regularly write and publish articles for our women’s sport series and speak on podcasts. We also held our first client event in April on investing, commercialising and regulating women’s sport and a more relaxed social padel event in July for women working in sports law. As an area that I am passionate in, it is brilliant to be involved and have a team now dedicated to the ever-evolving landscape of women’s sport.
Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I was a professional hockey player winning a gold medal at Rio 2016 Olympics and a bronze medal at London 2012 Olympics. Alongside work, I am also serving my second term as a member of the British Olympic Association’s Athlete Commission.
