The top companies for supporting employee mental health have been revealed in the first Mind Workplace Wellbeing Index.
The Environment Agency topped the index alongside Ark Conway Primary Academy, a primary school in West London – both receiving a Gold award, the most prestigious accolade.
Companies were awarded either, ‘gold, silver’ bronze’ or ‘committed to action’, based on a number of measures and input from HR professional, managers and staff from within their organisations.
Other winners included Deloitte LLP, Barnardos, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Jaguar Land Rover, and Laing O’Rourke, amongst others.
The Workplace Wellbeing Index Awards come as Mind releases data showing that of those staff who have disclosed poor mental health at work, 53 per cent said they felt supported.
The research also found that 72 per cent had been made aware of the support tools such as counselling and informal buddy systems. Over half were offered reasonable adjustments or support measures, such as changes to hours worked or the nature of some of their duties.
