Denise is Chief Executive of the Government sponsored FTSE Women Leaders Review and was also Chief Executive of the two predecessor Hampton-Alexander and Davies Reviews.

She has held the role since 2014, leading the UK’s business-led voluntary effort and task force to increase the number of women on FTSE 350 Boards, and in Leadership positions. Denise spent most of her career in the energy sector where she held several executive positions working for National Grid Plc and British Gas. She had sat on both corporate and charitable boards, including Chair of the Royal Academy of Arts Friends Boards. Denise is a passionate advocate for diversity & inclusions and was awarded an OBE in the 2016 for services to women in business, and an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of Hull.

What one action would you like to see organisations, or the government take to drive gender equity?

Introduce equal parenting leave for men and women.

If all public-listed and large private companies adopted this policy, it would be a game changer for families, and would even-up the playing field in the workplace overnight.
