Women In Racing

Women in Racing (WIR) was created to develop the profile of women in the sport of horseracing.

To encourage senior appointments at Board level across the industry and to attract more women into Racing, to strengthen connections and collaborate on approaches to help promote the health of the sport and to enhance its reputation as an attractive sector in which to build a career.

OUR VISION:

  • Support and promote women at all stages of their career by providing professional development opportunities, including mentoring and bursary schemes
  • Involve women in industry boards, committees, steering groups and working parties with a view to raising the profile of women in traditionally male-dominated environments
  • Create a culture that supports and promotes members and which encourages appointment of senior women at the highest levels in racing
  • Combine knowledge and best practice and where ever possible foster links with like-minded individuals
  • Promote Women in Racing members as a viable
    resource for business and PR opportunities across the sport
  • Develop commercial opportunities for suitable brands to become more involved in racing
