Encouraged by the success of the Ruby Connection in Australia, which has over 23,000 members, and inspired by the concept of connecting women, Ruby UK formed in early 2012.
Ruby UK maintains an Antipodean flair, being an aspirational, empowering and welcoming women’s network connecting professionals and businesses, allowing women to shine.
Ruby UK have established its London network through successful and sold out events in both 2012 and 2013 and have welcomed ladies from across the finance, legal, government, recruitment and other sectors, from CEO level right through to junior levels. The key to success is its welcoming atmosphere, removing the ‘forced’ feel to so many networks.
To maintain this, Ruby UK’s events range from Park Walks (members catch up monthly to walk around London’s key parks, including Regents Park, Hyde Park and Battersea Park), Training Modules (LinkedIn, Finance) and large scale topical networking events.
Ruby UK’s recent keynote speakers include Jo Elvin, Editor of Glamour UK magazine, Polly Noble, Health Coach, Author & young Cancer survivor, and Larke Riemer, Director of Westpac Women’s Markets. Ruby UK have been kindly been hosted by Whole Foods Market Camden, Westpac Bank London office and the Australian High Commission.
During their largest event in September 2012, Ruby UK ran a charity suit drive to help low income women get back to work, via the London-based charity Dress for Success. The initiative raised a £540 cash donation in addition to a significant donation of professional work clothing.
