Well it’s a congratulations to Danny Boyle and the entire cast of London for winning an Emmy this morning at the Annual Emmy Awards 2013 for Outstanding Art Direction For Variety Or Nonfiction Programming.
Presenting the dual award for Best Art Direction in a Variety Show (London Olympic Games and Saturday Night Live), presenter Rupert Friend joked that the art direction team for the Olympics couldn’t be here because they were busy “putting flowers by the road where the Kris Jenner show taped.”
Thanks must go to the following:
- Pandemonium Drummers
- The nurses of Great Ormond Street Hospital
- The Suffragettes
- The Pearly Kings and Queens
- The 150 Brunels
- The childrens choirs
- The Games Makers and cast
- The Mary Poppin’s flying in from the roof
The whole of London who supported and gave everyone a performance inside and outside of the stadium
Here are the official people who were recognised by the organisers:
London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony
Suttirat Anne Larlarb, Production Designer
Danny Boyle, Art Director
We say, well done to us all and to Mr Boyle for making such a introduction of London to the world (again). It is great for such a ceremony to be recognised globally in our books. We should all be proud.
Yes that is true. We offer our thanks and congratulations to all the cast members and all of the backstage and crews who also helped put this ceremony together. Almost a year in the planning and well worth the time spent by all. Congratulations to all
How come you only thank a handful of the cast groups, and nobody behind the scenes?
