A large Investment Manager based in the city is looking for a PMO. The role is there to manage all aspects of the PMO activities for one or more business lines including financial control, project governance, provision of MI and project financials.
Business Line accountabilities:
- Provide support to agreed business line head covering all aspects of both Project and BAU including but not limited to the following:
- With assistance from the appropriate IT Business Line Head help reconcile both Project and BAU spend against budget on a monthly basis to create a FY Forecast
- Production of accurate quality monthly management reports for your designated business line
- Production of project MI for your designated business line on a weekly basis
- Collation of Headcount information and analysis for your designated business line
- Maintain Project Portfolio Overview for your designated business line
- Effective project governance of all projects within your designated business line
- Production and collation of material for the Governance Steering Committees
- Production and distribution of minutes from the Governance meeting
- Financial updates and reconciliation against budget
- Collation of business benefits (where applicable)
- Resource planning to show project alignment, under or over allocation
- Review and update Project Database
- System Catalogue updates
Experience and Background
- Knowledge and demonstrated capability of use of Project Methodology
- Must have demonstrated capability of resource planning
- Knowledge of project financials and demonstrated capability to reconcile financials to management accounts
- Experience of working within the financial services, ideally for an Investment /Asset Manager
Competence and Characteristics
- Communication: Must be able to demonstrate the ability to build significant relationships with the business and IT Head of Business Line
- Execution: Must be able to demonstrate the ability to bring to bear experience and expertise to independently assess PM’s and their projects
- Development: Ability to identify and implement improvements to the PMO processes
