Alternative Fashion Week is where new designers come to be discovered by the press and fashion industry - and where you can see and buy clothes by the designers who will be shaping tomorrow's fashion trends. 12 Different Designers Show Each Day Fashion shows start at 1.15pm each day and are accompanied by live contemporary jazz from The Groove Collection. Original and recycled textiles are a major feature this year. You'll see womenswear and menswear ranging from the sublime to the sensational, but no fur in support of the 'No Fur Trade' campaign. Sensational Fashion Market Surrounding the catwalk from 12 noon to 3pm Monday to Friday is a shopping sensation with stalls selling an exotic range of clothes, textiles and accessories. Stunning New Models The catwalk will feature new models - many directly from the special 6 week model training course run for Alternative Fashion Week. Over 60 Young Designers Expect anything from elegant to edgy. The designers are selected from literally hundreds of applications received from independent designers aiming to establish their labels to recent fashion and textile graduates. About Alternative Arts Alternative Arts is a publicly funded arts organisation presenting fashion as an exciting and original art form and supporting fresh talent by producing and directing Alternative Fashion Week at no charge to the designers. The event will be held at Spitalfields E1 and is supported by Hammerson, Alternative Arts and Fashion UK.
